Keanekaragaman Burung di Kawasan Kampus Universitas Negeri Padang, Air Tawar Barat, Sumatera Barat
Abstract
Research related to birds is very important because birds are dynamic and birds are also an indicator of enviromental change in the certain area. The campus area generally has adequate green open space, including in the form of parks and artificial forests. Green open space in the campus area is growing in line with the initiation of the eco-campus or green campus program. These green open spaces in the campus area are habitat for several wild animals including birds. This study aimed to analyze the diversity of birds of UNP campus area. The birds that dominate in the UNP campus area were belong to genus Passer and Lonchura. The location and renovation of campus buildings was one of the factors that can affect bird diversity. This finding is expected can contribute to bird conservation action in green open spaces in the campus area.
