Abstract

Water hyacinth is a water hyacinth that is very easy to breed, its presence has been considered a weed, but in this study, water hyacinth will be used as the main ingredient in the manufacture of liquid organic fertilizer. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of water hyacinth POC on the growth of mustard greens (Brassica narinosa). Pagoda mustard plant is a plant native to Asia, precisely from China, which is very good if cultivated in Indonesia. The method used in this study is a pure experimental method with organoleptic testing consisting of 5 treatments, namely (control, 1 ml (POC water hyacinth + EM4 10 ml) + 1 L water, 1 ml (POC water hyacinth + stale rice 10 ml) +1 L water, 1 ml (POC water hyacinth + EM4 20 ml) + 1 L water, 1 ml (POC water hyacinth + stale rice 20 ml) + 1 L water. This research was carried out at the screen house Installation (IP2TP) Kayu Agung in from February to March 2021. The results showed that giving water hyacinth POC with a composition of 1 ml (water hyacinth POC + stale rice 10 ml) + 1 L of water gave the best results on stem enlargement but each treatment did not have a major effect on leaf number and leaf color.
