Etnobotani Pemanfaatan Tanaman Pada Ritual Kematian di Dasana Indah RT.05 RW.16 Kelurahan Bojong Nangka, Kecamatan Kelapa Dua, Kabupaten Tangerang

The use of plants in cultural activities is one of the efforts to preserve plants. Death ritual plants are plants
used in death ceremonies, among others, in bathing and burial. This study aims to determine the types of plants,
the use and proportion of plants in the death custom in Dasana Indah RT. 05 RW. 16 Bojong Nangka Village,
Kelapa Dua District, Tangerang Regency. This research method uses descriptive method with qualitative
analysis methods. Respondents were selected by purposive sampling technique. The respondents selected were
the people who knew best about the study of the ethnobotany of death customs in Dasana Indah RT.05 RW.16
Bojong Nangka Village, Kelapa Dua District, Tangerang Regency. Responding to 22 people with 2 key
informants and 20 general informants. Data collection in this study was carried out by structured interviews.
The result is that 9 plant species with 9 families are used in death rituals with the highest use of pandan leaves
(Pandanus amaryllifolius), jasmine flowers (Jasminum sambac), and bidara leaves (Ziziphus mauritiana).
Leaves are the most frequently used parts with the proportion of 51% among other parts of flowers (47%) and
stems (2%). Based on research by residents of Dasana Indah RT. 05 RW 16 Bojong Nangka Village, Kelapa
Dua District, Tangerang Regency still uses plants in death rituals.
