Analysis of genetic variation of the outer membrane protein (omp) gene sequence in Salmonella enterica subsp. enterica using RFLP in silico
Keywords:

The OMP (Outer membrane protein) gene is a class of unique integral membrane proteins anchored in OM, whose β-barrel structure is formed by 8 to 26 strands. Salmonella enterica is a rod-shaped, flagellate, facultative anaerobic, Gram-negative bacterium and a species of the genus Salmonella. There were 17 samples of Salmonella enterica gene sequences analyzed. This study aimed to analyze genetic variation in outer membrane protein (OMP) gene sequences in Salmonella enterica bacteria NCBI PopSet 1817659977 using in-silico RFLP by free bioinformatics tools on the internet.. DNA sequences are cut using 2 types of restrictive enzymes namely BglII and TaqI. The in-silico RFLP results in this study showed that there were genetic variations in the recognition site of the BglII enzymes (A1 allele and A2 allele) and TaqI (B1 allele and B2 allele) in 17 DNA sequences of the OMP gene for Salmonella enterica bacteria NCBI PopSet 1817659977. The sources of genetic variation include mutations, migration and recombination.
